ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Carina!
I’ve spent years supporting children, teens, and families through some of the hardest and most meaningful moments of their medical journeys. With a background in early childhood development and a master’s degree in developmental disabilities with a concentration in Child Life, I’ve had the privilege of interning and working in large pediatric hospitals, where I witnessed firsthand the strength, fear, resilience, and love families carry through difficult moments.
Throughout my time as a Child Life Specialist in the hospital, I often created personalized resources, developmentally appropriate, evidence-based educational materials, coping tools, and comfort items to help children and siblings better understand what was happening around them. Time and time again, families shared how much those little things meant during overwhelming moments, reminding me that sometimes the smallest gestures can make the biggest impact.
That belief eventually became the heart behind It’s the Little Things.
Today, I create books, printables, and resources designed to help children and families feel more prepared, empowered, and supported through life’s big experiences. My hope is to take overwhelming situations and break them down into little things that feel easier to understand, one page, one conversation, and one small moment at a time. My goal is not to replace the incredible work of professionals, but to create meaningful tools that can support children, families, and those who care for them along the way.
Thank you for being here and allowing me to be a small part of your journey.
Because sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.
